ACADEMIC SCHEDULE

1) Intensive Korean Language Program

Yeungnam University includes the Intensive Korean Language Program as a mandatory component of its degree requirements, emphasizing the importance of students demonstrating proficiency in the Korean language. This program is thoughtfully designed to not only enhance students' Korean language skills but also deepen their understanding of Korean culture. It spans three consecutive semesters, with two class being conducted in each semester. Upon completion of all six classes, students are required to pass a proficiency exam to fulfill the language requirement of their degree program.

2) Industry Internship

Yeungnam University offers industry internship opportunities for international students. This program provides hands-on experience aligned with students’ academic majors, effectively bridging theory and practice. Participants acquire practical skills and competencies required in real industrial settings. The internship also enhances global competitiveness through exposure to Korean corporate culture and organizational systems. By engaging in industry-linked projects, students strengthen their problem-solving and professional capabilities. In addition, the program offers valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals, supporting future career development and employment prospects.

3) Conference Presentation

Students will attend at least one major academic conference, such as the Annual Conference of The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers. This participation offers them a platform to present their solution ideas and policy proposals on topics related to Training Program of Future Automotive Industry Specialists Based on Mechanical Engineering. It also provides a valuable opportunity to receive feedback from experts in the field of Mechanical Engineering in Korea.

4) Forum

This Forum is designed to enhance students' presentation skills and encourage the initiation of technical papers through engagement in forum dialogues with mechanical engineering. By participating in these forums, students gain invaluable opportunities to present the findings from their issue papers at an annual conference. This program not only aids in developing their academic and professional expertise but also provides a platform for them to share their research and insights with a broader audience in the field of mechanical engineering.

5) Field Study and Special Lecture

The Field Study and Special Lecture sessions offer students a comprehensive learning experience, combining practical field trips with insightful special lectures from distinguished external experts in mechanical engineering. These field trips are not limited to mechanical engineering sites; they also include visits to places of historical significance in Korea's journey towards industrialization, modernization, and rural development.
Before each trip, YU will organize a pre-trip session to provide essential background information about the site and a list of check-points for students to focus on during the visit. Following the field trips, post-trip sessions are held where students can share their feedback and engage in debriefing discussions with faculty members. This structure ensures that students not only witness the historical and current state of Korea’s mechanical engineering firsthand but also actively reflect on and discuss their observations and learnings.

6) Cultural Programs

Yeungnam University seeks to offer a variety of cultural programs throughout the year, aiming to provide students with enriching extracurricular activities. These programs are designed to give students a deeper insight into Korean culture and arts. These activities not only foster cultural understanding but also contribute to the holistic development of students outside the academic realm

7) Training Program for Video Creators

Yeungnam University, in collaboration with the University's Public Relations team, offers a specialized training program for students interested in video production. This program provides an opportunity for students to learn various editing techniques and become proficient in using professional video editing equipment. The focus is on equipping students with practical skills in video creation, enhancing their ability to produce high-quality content.
